Effective SEO is an important part of building a successful blog. This is a topic that I have covered many different times.
One of the posts that I had written a couple of weeks back, "Using SEO On Your Blog" talks about SEObook.com who is one of the more well known SEO sites on the web.
Search Engine Optimization, also known as SEO, is the best way to drive traffic to your blog. A well optimized blog can mean lots of visitors and more money for bloggers. However, hiring someone to optimize your blog for you can get pretty costly, especially if your just starting out.

4 SEO Tips For Your Blog
- Backlinks and Link Exchange:
Building backlinks and exchanging links with other bloggers is one of the best SEO tactics out there. This is because it also builds your blog's Page Rank while you do it. The most popular ways to do this are, building backlinks through your comments and flat out asking other bloggers in your niche topic to exchange links with you.
- Use The Right Key-Words In Your Blog Posts:
I always like to say, "Write For Your Readers First and Everything Else Second". What this means is, write your blog posts for human readers rather than writing to please the search engines.
But this doesn't mean that you can't optimize your posts with the right key-words for your blog's topic.
To do this, just use a Key-Word Search Tool to find the most popular key-words and phrases for your topic, then include those words in your blog posts. Just try not to over-do-it!
- Choosing A Good Domain Name:
When you choose a domain name for your blog, you want to make it short, simple, and easy for your visitors to remember. You should also try and use one of the key-words that you found with the key-word tool. This will tell the search engines that your blog must be relevant to that certain key-word.
- Optimize Your Blog's Navigation:
Not only will this make your site more user friendly for your visitors, but optimizing your blog's navigation will also allow search engines to index other parts of your blog.
Search Engine Optimization is always changing and some of the SEO techniques that you're using today might get you a top spot in Google, but then 2 months down the road those same techniques may not matter as much.
But these 4 SEO tactics have remained an important part of Search Engine Optimization for quite some time now and I'm sure they always will.
Have you used any of these SEO tactics before today?
