Writing a really good post can sometimes be a lot of work. But what happens when a couple of weeks go by and that post is no longer at the top of the "Recent Posts" list.
You put all of that hard work into writing your post and now it's gone forever, well maybe not forever. There are a few things that you can do to breathe some life into your older blog posts.
3 Ways To Get People Reading Your Older Posts
- Optimize Older Posts - First of all, if you have written a pillar article that you put a lot of energy into and it's not getting much play in the search engines, it might need a little more optimizing.
Go back and see if some of your older posts are "Up To Par". Consider using some different keywords in the title and throughout the actual post.
- Link To Older Posts - If the opportunity presents itself when you are writing a new post, you can link back to other great blog posts that you have written in the past.
I came across this tip myself when I first started blogging, so it is something I have always tried to do. However, because I have 2 main blogs, i-Blogger and the HCG Diet 411 Blog, I will even link to posts on my other blog as well. (See I just did it again)
- Blog Recap - The other day I was watching some old re-runs of the "Sopranos" and at the beginning of the show it was telling what had happened in previous episodes. That gave me an idea; what if you did that with your blog.
You could do a bi-weekly or monthly recap of what's been going on with your blog. This way you could link to your posts that you had written earlier in the month.
Do you like the idea of a Blog Recap?
