These Are Called Guest Posts
The reason that guest posts work so well for both bloggers is because it gives the blog some fresh new content and it helps the blogger that wrote the post to get their name out there. More than likely they will a see nice surge of traffic to their own blog too.
Usually the blogger who runs that particular blog, will give you credit for the post you have written and will allow you to add your link to your signature. Depending on how popular the blog is that your writing the guest post for, it can end up doing wonders for your blog.
For example, if it is a high traffic blog you will not only see a spike in traffic after writing the post, but you might even get some new readers too. On the other hand if the blog is only getting one or two-thousand visitors a month, you probably won't get a ton of extra traffic, but at least your getting your work out there for others to see. It also means that you'll have one more link pointing back to your blog.
The next time you visit a blog that you're following, look around and see if they allow people to write guest posts for their blog. If you don't see that it's mentioned anywhere on their blog, send them an email and ask if they would consider letting you write a guest post for their blog. It never hurts to ask, who knows maybe they've never thought about it before.
Have you ever written a guest post for another blog before? Tell me about it in a comment. Thanks for stopping by i-Blogger.
