By now most bloggers are using Google AdSense as a source of income. This is because blogs are a great way to earn money with AdSense, but why. To best answer that question, you should first know how Google AdSense works.
How Google AdSense Works
When an advertiser places an ad using Google AdWords, Google will take and place those ads on various different websites and blogs that are a part of the Google AdSense Program.
Google decides which ads to place on your blog by matching the ads to your content. For example: If you mainly blog about X-Box 360 games, the ads you will most likely see on your blog will be from retailers selling items related to the X-Box 360.
When your visitors click on those ads, the advertiser who placed the ad will pay Google a predetermined amount for that click. Then Google pays you a percentage of what they just made from that advertisers particular ad.
Of course, the advertiser is hoping that the person clicking on their ad will actually purchase whatever it is that they’re offering.
Because of the fact that it costs the advertiser money every-time somebody clicks on your AdSense, you are forbidden to click on any of your own ads. If you do, this is called "Click Fraud" and your AdSense account will be terminated and you'll never be able to show AdSense on your blog again. EVER!
Google also prohibits you from asking others to click on your AdSense ads as well. Which makes plenty of sense if you think about it. Why would any advertiser in their right mind want to pay Google just so your friends can go and click on your AdSense ads to make you a little bit of money.
The good news is that there's no need for you to try and cheat. You can make more money with your blog and Google AdSense just by following their rules.
