When you decide to start a new blog, finding a place to host it is more important than you might think. There are a couple of things that you should consider when looking for a blog host.
First, you want to find a blog host that has at least a 99% up-time and nothing less. There is no point in having a blog if it's not always up and running.
This is why the blog host that I use is Blogger.com. There are a lot of blog hosts on the web, but Blogger is owned and operated by Google, so you know that it's got to be reliable. I don't recall ever having a problem with the servers going down here. Another big plus, is that Blogger will host your blog for FREE!
Blogger is also one of the most popular blog hosts on the web, I currently have 3 blogs that are hosted here. This is great because if you want to start a new blog on some other topic, you have that option.
If you decide to use someone other than blogger, try to choose one that allows you to customize the HTML on your blog. You want to have this option especially if you plan to use good SEO (Search Engine Optimization).
Now, if you plan to use Google AdSense on your blog, keep in mind, not every free blog host out there will allow you to do this. Blogger of course is one host that does. Actually they make it very easy for you to use AdSense on your blog.
